农历二零二四年七月初九至七月十六日，公历2024年8月12日至 8月19日，山东淄博普照寺隆重举行水陆法会。本次法会由中国佛教协会副秘书长、山东省佛教协会会长、山东省政协常委、淄博市佛教协会会长、普照寺方丈释仁昌大和尚；中国少林杂志社社长、中国功夫文化工作委员会副主席、淄博市佛教协会名誉会长、普照寺监院释延明法师；广东省的释道学法师三位法师主法。
此次水陆法会功德为世界、为国家、为六道众生祈福。吸引了来自全国各地的信众和游客前来参与。在为期七天的法会中，普照寺内香烟袅袅，梵音缭绕，各项佛事活动如法如律地进行。法会分为内坛和外坛，内坛设有大悲忏、瑜伽焰口等庄严法事，由三位法师共同主持，外坛则设有诵经、祈福等活动，供大众随喜参与。
释仁昌大和尚在开示中指出，水陆法会是佛教最为殊胜、广大的法事之一，旨在超度六道众生，净化人心，积累福德智慧。他强调，当前世界面临的种种挑战，无论是环境问题还是社会矛盾，根源都在于人心的不净与无明，因此通过这样的法会，祈愿众生能得以觉悟，世界得以和谐。
释延明法师则在法会上表示，普照寺历年来致力于弘扬佛法，此次法会的成功举办离不开众多信众的发心和护持。他还特别提到，通过参与水陆法会，不仅可以修持个人功德，更能为社会带来祥和与安宁。
法会期间，信众们纷纷虔诚礼佛，参与各项法事活动，并为家人、朋友及普天下的众生祈福。尤其是在超度仪式期间，很多信众表达了对逝去亲友的思念与祝福，希望他们能够往生极乐，脱离苦海。
法会最后一日，在庄严的回向仪式中，三位法师共同诵经回向，将法会功德回向给所有参与者及普天下的众生，祈愿世界和平，国泰民安。至此，普照寺2024年水陆法会圆满结束，广大信众依依不舍地离开寺院，带着法会的殊胜加持与祝福，继续各自的生活与修行之路。
From the ninth to the sixteenth day of the seventh lunar month in 2024, corresponding to August 12 to August 19 in the Gregorian calendar, a grand Water and Land Dharma Assembly was held at Puzhao Temple in Zibo, Shandong. This Dharma Assembly was presided over by Venerable Master Shiren Chang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Buddhist Association of China, President of the Shandong Buddhist Association, Member of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, President of the Zibo Buddhist Association, and Abbot of Puzhao Temple; Venerable Master Shiyen Ming, President of China Shaolin Magazine, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Kung Fu Cultural Working Committee, Honorary President of the Zibo Buddhist Association, and Supervisor of Puzhao Temple; and Venerable Master Shidao Xue from Guangdong Province.
The merits of this Water and Land Dharma Assembly were dedicated to world peace, national prosperity, and the well-being of all beings in the Six Realms. It attracted numerous devotees and visitors from across the country. During the seven-day assembly, Puzhao Temple was filled with the scent of incense and the sound of sacred chants, as various Buddhist rituals were conducted in accordance with the Dharma. The assembly was divided into inner and outer altars; the inner altar hosted solemn rituals such as the Great Compassion Repentance and the Yoga Flaming Mouth Ceremony, presided over by the three masters, while the outer altar offered activities like sutra chanting and blessing ceremonies, open for public participation.
In his Dharma talk, Venerable Master Shiren Chang emphasized that the Water and Land Dharma Assembly is one of the most supreme and vast Buddhist ceremonies, aimed at delivering beings from the Six Realms, purifying minds, and accumulating merit and wisdom. He stressed that the current global challenges, whether environmental issues or social conflicts, stem from the impurity and ignorance of the human mind. Therefore, through such an assembly, it is hoped that beings can attain enlightenment, and the world can achieve harmony.
Venerable Master Shiyen Ming noted that Puzhao Temple has been dedicated to the propagation of the Dharma over the years, and the successful hosting of this assembly is inseparable from the sincere dedication and support of many devotees. He also mentioned that by participating in the Water and Land Dharma Assembly, one not only cultivates personal merit but also brings peace and tranquility to society.
During the assembly, devotees earnestly worshipped, participated in various rituals, and prayed for their families, friends, and all beings. Especially during the deliverance ceremonies, many devotees expressed their remembrance and blessings for their departed loved ones, hoping that they could be reborn in the Pure Land and be free from suffering.
On the final day of the assembly, during a solemn dedication ceremony, the three masters jointly chanted sutras to dedicate the merits of the assembly to all participants and all beings, praying for world peace and national prosperity. Thus, the 2024 Water and Land Dharma Assembly at Puzhao Temple concluded successfully.
